Duggars Famous & Frugal Tater Tot Casserole

The Duggars Tater Tot Casserole

The Duggars Tater Tot Casserole

Jim Bob Duggar’s favorite meal is the family’s now-famous dish, Tater Tot Casserole. While there are numerous recipes in their two books, The Duggars: 20 and Counting, and A Love That Multiplies, this casserole is the only one that I have tried personally. I saw Jana Duggar preparing it on one of the first documentaries about the Duggars daily life. Try it, and I promise you will not be sorry that you did.  Not only will it please little ones and big ones alike, it is also very cost effective.

We make two of these casseroles for our family of 7, which leaves a serving or two of leftovers.

First, you must mix together the turkey seasoning ingredients:

(2) tablespoons nutmeg

(2) tablespoons dried thyme

(2) tablespoons garlic powder

(2) tablespoons dried sage

Mix together and store in an airtight container.

(4) Tablespoons ketchup

(2) tablespoons soy sauce

(1) teaspoon turkey seasoning

(2) pounds of ground turkey (seasoned and cooked, recipe above)

(2) 2-lb bags of frozen tater tots

(2) 10 3/4 ounce cans of cream of mushroom soup

(2) 10 3/4 ounce cans of cream of chicken soup

(2) cups of milk

securedownload (30)Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Place ground turkey on bottom of (2) 9×13 pans.  Mix together soups and milk, then spread over top of meat.  Top with tater tots.

Bake for 1 hour, or until tater tots are crispy.
