I usually can’t sleep very well, as a matter of fact, I am an insomniac for the most part. If I stay up past a certain time, than I can hang it up trying to get to sleep before 3:00 a.m. Other times, I fall asleep just fine, but ping awake in the early morning for absolutely no reason……and there’s no more sleep to be had after that.
If getting to sleep and staying asleep is such a normal part of my evening, than staying up with a newborn should be no problem, right? Yeah, not so much. Turns out, when I get up every 2 to 3 hours to feed the Precious Angel, it leaves me with only 2 to 3 hours of sleep for the whole night. Then, no sooner than I get good and asleep, the little booger wants to eat again. Makes my eyes droop just thinking about it.
The truth is though, that I love it. Cocoa Bean is a really good baby who eats like a madman and burps like a trucker……which makes for very quick feedings. He’s also squishy and cuddly and makes my heart burst with love. I feel very blessed to even have the priviledge of caring for him, and my husband jokes with me that I wouldn’t complain about taking care of these babies if I was dead on my feet……and he’s right.
So, I will sleep later. Who needs sleep when there are all of these glorious children in our house!
